Concert Band
The Santee Concert Band is made of the most advanced musicians at Santee. This ensemble performs at festivals throughout Southern California, School and Community Concerts, and City events. The Santee Concert Band has earned several awards including Unanimous Superior Ratings at judged District and SCBOA Festivals.
Students in this group participate in an fun yet rigorous music learning experience that encompasses multiple genres and styles of music from composers and eras throughout history. There is a strong focus on individual musicianship and fundamentals within a concert band setting. Participation is by audition.
The Concert Band hosts several concerts throughout the year including community events and Festivals. There is a requirement to practice both individually and in sectionals outside of class rehearsal. The Santee Concert Band represents the most advanced group on campus and individual accountability is required. Participation satisfies the "F" graduation requirement.
Students may participate on the following instruments:
Woodwind: Flute, Oboe, Bassoon, Clarinet, Bass Clarinet, Alto Saxophone, Tenor Saxophone, Baritone Saxophone
Brass: Trumpet, French Horn, Trombone, Baritone, Tuba
